This exercise is the fifth and final progression in learning the technique of the bajada de pared in padel. After working on the different elements of the movement and shot placement, the player now uses their bajada to start a rally.
The objective is to put all the technical elements into practice in an open-play situation, adding a tactical purpose to the shot.
The player must learn to alternate between bajadas towards the centre and cross-court shots aimed at the opponent’s body, observe the opponent’s response and look to take advantage of the return, while moving forwards to the net to maintain a dominant position in the rally.
