When reaching a volley after a long movement toward the center, it is common to feel that the only available options are to play through the middle or cross-court.

At N3XO Padel Academy, we propose a technical adjustment to ensure that this type of movement does not limit your options, allowing you to maintain an attacking situation while keeping the possibility to play down the line.

👉 The key lies in your base and footwork support.

When you move toward the center to play a volley:

✔️ Slightly widen your step with the leg on the same side as your hitting hand
✔️ Lower your base to improve stability and generate greater force
✔️ From this position, direct your force toward the opposite side

By applying these principles, you will be able to maintain pressure down the line without crossing your feet or your body.

You will also be better positioned to close the space if your opponent plays into that area on the next shot.

Integrate this exercise into your training and apply it in your next match.
