This exercise is the fourth stage in learning the technique of the guided lob. The movement worked on previously is now applied to a ball that rebounds off the back glass.
The lob is a very effective option after the back glass when the ball is comfortable to play. The player must be able to let the ball pass, find the correct contact point, and maintain the right technique to guide it upwards.
The player therefore learns to play a lob after the glass, while maintaining the low-to-high follow-through with the legs and the racket.
The objective is to reproduce the same upward follow-through despite the rebound off the glass, always finishing with the racket above the head.
